Frequently asked questions about code club.

  • What if I missed orientation? Can I still attend code club?
    Yes , Code club has open enrollment, and you can drop in to attend at any class until the class ends. 
  • What are the dates and times?
    Starting November 13th the times will be Tuesdays and Thursdays excluding holidays from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm (subject to change)
  • How long does the class last? 
    The grant is funded for 1 year from the date the program starts (dates could change). Current end date is November 13th 2019.
  • What If I miss class? 
    Code Club is self paced and even though we would like you to attend, you can continue at any time until the end date of class.
  • How is the class run? Who teaches the class? How will my child learn?
    Coalinga Code Club by Prenda is a self guided, self paced class that will be held at the Coalinga Library Program Room. The program is online based and will start out very easy with games and puzzles to solve and work into programs like Scratch, Codepen, and App Lab.
  • Can we access it from home?
    Yes you can access it from home but to be able to get credit and move forward you will need to attend the classes.
  • How much does it cost?
    Free
  • Who can attend?
    Ages 8-18 , must be able to read
  • What should we bring?
    The library will be providing the needed computers, and software. 
  • What technology is required?
    PC or Laptop that runs Java, Flash, etc
  • Can we bring and work off our own devices?
    Yes , if you have a laptop or mac book that is capable of running the software then you can use your own device. Tablets and iPads will not work well for this class.
